DIY troubleshooting.

Three decision trees for the most common website problems. Follow the steps in order. If you reach the end and the problem is still there, contact SBTC with what you tried.

This page covers the most common cases. It is not exhaustive.

Site will not load

Site will not load or shows an error
Check the URL for typos or wrong protocol
Check your hosting status page for outages
Clear browser cache and hard-refresh
Check DNS settings or recent domain changes
If fixed
You are done
If hosting is down
Contact your host
If still broken

Broken form

Form submissions are not coming through
Check spam and junk folders
Submit a test entry with a real email
Check form email settings and recipient address
If fixed
You are done
If still broken

Slow site

Site feels slow or scores poorly on speed tests
Run a speed test on PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix
Check image sizes. Compress or convert to WebP
Disable non-essential plugins one by one and retest
If fixed
You are done
If still slow
